So, you want to fly drones?
There's a bit to learn, but it’s easy.
First, in the UK, all drone flyers and operators need to be registered. You can do this very easily and cheaply through the CAA website.
You can get your operator and flyer IDs in around an hour, with one easy exam to pass. The exam is an open book exam, so you can refer to the free notes they supply you during your exam. This enables you to fly in the A1 and A3 categories, and only costs a tenner.
Click on the CAA Banner below to register and get your IDs.
Having CAA Operator and Flyer IDs
does not automatically entitle you to fly in other counties. For
example, to fly in the EU, you need to register and qualify for your A1
and A3 through an EU country. The Irish qualification and registration
is accepted in the EU.
Whichever country you intend to fly in, always check the local rules and
laws.
